Open Education Resources Online Symposium

Open Education Resources Online Symposium Online

The University Libraries invites faculty and instructors to attend the Open Education Resources Online Symposium at 1 p.m. on March 4. The symposium will feature opening remarks by Dr. Jennifer Bott, WMU provost and vice president of academic affairs, keynote speaker Karen Lauritsen, Open Education Network publishing director, and a panel of WMU faculty and instructors who have adopted Open Education Resources (OER) in their courses. Learn about using, adapting, and publishing OER from the experts and making the switch from your WMU colleagues.

We will discuss:

  • How the quality of OER has rapidly improved over the last ten years—and benefits of OER over traditionally published textbooks
  • How switching to OER not only help alleviate financial stress from students but lead to more positive learning outcomes
  • How you can make the switch to OER or publish your own OER to help students at WMU and around the world

Hosted by the University Libraries.
