Library Skills Week Closing Keynote: Multidisciplinary Research: Legal materials to help in any discipline

Keynote Speaker: Duane Strojny, Associate Dean of Library and Instructional Support and Professor

Moderator: LuMarie Guth, Business Librarian

Description: The actions of our government have an impact on nearly every aspect of our lives. From local zoning laws to state governor executive orders to federal regulations concerning our food chain, there is rarely a research project that doesn't involve a legal component. Learn how legal materials can help you with your research. This session will include a review of government entities and the type of laws they produce, a discussion of when legal materials can help you and where you can find them, and an overview of the types of materials freely available to help with your research.

Presenter's Bio: Dean Strojny joined WMU-Cooley in 1995 as Head of Information Services for the law school library. He was named Acting Director of the library in 2002 and oversaw the dedication of the library in founder Thomas E. Brennan's name. He was named to his current post overseeing all aspects of the library operation in July 2002.
