Literature review searching techniques and strategies

In order to conduct a thorough, high quality literature review, one must be sure they have searched the right places, using the most relevant terms, and be confident that they have not missed any crucial works. This workshop will help students improve their results by learning techniques for finding search terms, locating databases, and using citation tracking and other tools to find the most relevant literature for their topic. Students will also learn how to set up automatic alerts to efficiently update a literature review.

Learning objectives:

Attendees will learn techniques for improving the quality and efficiency of searching for materials for a literature review.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with advanced techniques and tools for database searching, as well as setting up a variety of database alerts.
