Introduction to Data Analysis Using Excel In-person Online
Are you looking to get experience with Excel for use in your projects, theses or on the job? Join Daria Orlowska, Data Librarian, in a live demonstration of combining, organizing and analyzing data. During the course of this workshop, attendees will be presented with an abbreviated research question that will serve as a base for learning to navigate and use formulas in Excel, critically examining datasets for bias and limitations, and discovering how secondary data (data being used for a different purpose than was originally intended when collected, such as the data found in University Libraries lighthouse logs) can be leveraged for research projects. This hands-on workshop will use actual datasets with step-by-step instructions that you can begin applying right away in your own projects, so don't miss out!
Learning Outcomes: Determine your needs vs dataset needs; Identify Excel tools to prepare datasets for analysis; Employ data management best practices; Consider limitations around findings
