Managing Your Data in Spreadsheets  In-person Online

Description: Successfully managing your data is the foundation of any project. The purpose of this workshop is to help guide you through more effective data-wrangling strategies. In it, you will use Excel to learn: good data entry practices, how to avoid common formatting mistakes, and basic quality control. The materials are based on the Data Carpentry module Data Organization in Spreadsheets for Ecologists. NOTE: Learning how to conduct data analyses, such as plotting, statistics, or code, is beyond the scope of this workshop.

Learning Outcomes: Recognize common spreadsheet mistakes; Set up a spreadsheet for good organization; Employ basic quality control
